I am talking about a congress MP Mr.Mani Shankar Aiyar. He said he will be "unhappy" if the Common Wealth Games were a success also added that games and sports are "evil".
He also said "I am delighted in a way because rains are causing difficulties for the Commonwealth Games. Basically, I will be very unhappy, if the Games are successful because then they will start bringing Asian Games, Olympic Games and all these."
Rs.35,000 crore are spend on the CWG. The money should have been spent on poor children according to the Congressman.
I like the sentiments this guy to help the poor kids but it is surely idiotic of him to say the above quoted statements. Yes! I am calling him an idiot and a person with a limited vision. I agree that Rs.35,000 crore is a huge amount to be spent on games. But here we are not talking about only games; the image building of India is also at stakes. What about the increase in tourism that happens when such international event happen. They always bring great opportunity for the hosting country's tourist related business to increase their sales.
